About Focchi

The yard Focchi Giampaolo Nautica have existed since the 70’ies and have primarily delivered boats to the Italian market. Maxima Blue is the exclusive importer for Denmark and is thereby contributing to bringing these excellents RIBs outside og Italy - they deserve it.

Since the early days, Focchi has been focused on off-shore RIB racing and this DNA is clear, even today. All Focchi RIBs are highly seaworthy, light boats with a particularly good grip and high levels of comfort.

Turn-key delivery

We are delivering Focchi RIBs as turnkey boats with Suzuki LeanBurn engines, all equipped with hydraulic steering completely ready for use, either on a Brenderup-trailer or launched at a location of the buyer’s choice.

The conical tubes, that aesthetically narrows in towards the bow of the boat and the very distinct sheer of the boats are typical trademarks of Focchi’s designs.

Two series of boats

Focchi are offering RIBs in two series - Sailing and Family.

Sailing are center console boats ideal for sailing instructors, coaches, emergency response as well as other support functions. The space on board and all the small details have been nurtured to provide solutions for what so many other RIBs are lacking.

The Family Series is designed for water sports and leisure with very large and padded areas for relaxing and sun bathing. There are provisions for comfortable seating, a well-designed helms position with great shelter for the wing as well as plenty of space for instruments of choice.

Coaching and support

The boats in the Sailing Series have been developed for coaching and support situations. The distinct and highly developed shape of the hull, with a deep V-shape at the bow and a relatively flat stern yields a particularly seaworthy boat which planes quickly and have very good characteristics in waves.

The weight of the boats is very low which is felt instantly. The hull provides en enormous grip and can be curved quickly and in tight turns without the propeller drawing in air and loosing grip. All Focchi RIBs are completely free from the so-called chine-walk which is so prominent on certain other brands.

Tall floor boards and dry sailing

Due to the sheer of the boats all Focchi RIBs are very dry to sail, even in choppy conditions. The space on board is class-leading. This has been accomplished by raising the floor which provides ample space both on the sides of and to the rear and forward of the center console.

The high floors of the boats are providing more advantages than just space. For Sailing 460 and 510 we are able to offer a built-in gas tank which is placed under the floor for optimal center of gravity. Secondly, at the stern of the floor nearest to the transom is a recess across the width of boat featuring two automatic bailers. There is no need for an electric bilge pump to keep the boat clear of surface water between uses, making the ever-failing bilge pump in RIBs a thing of the past.

Great ergonomics for both driver and passengers

The ergonomics are very good, sitting as well as standing. The long bench seat provides ample room for two persons. One person can easily get very comfortable at slow sailing speeds or during waiting periods by leaning back up against the inox support (optional equipment). While standing, the upper part of the steering wheel as well as the gas/gear lever are within easy reach.

The inox support has been designed to have a height making it ideal to stand behind as passenger during fast cruising. The design of the support is also providing many options to get a grip while seated on the tubes to the rear of the driver. The built-in tow hook has been placed as high as possible to best clear the engine while towing dinghies and other small boats.

Center console and transport features

The center console is equipped with Suzuki’s very nice gas/gear lever which totally conceals the cables to the engine. Besides the great looks, this routing of the control cables makes for the minimal resistance possible, in turn yielding a very smooth action of the lever. The front part of the console can easily be tilted forwards to allow more space for certain transport challenges where a larger dinghy might be transported on the RIB.

With four lifting points the boats can easily and in perfect balance be lifted with a crane, with just minimal stress on each point.

Hydraulic steering and safety

All Focchi Sailing RIBs, from smallest to largest are equipped with Mavi-Mare hydraulic steering. The hydraulic system provides easy control of the boat, but even more importantly the system provides safety. The boat cannot is less prone to be knocked out of course even if the driver lets go of the steering wheel at high speeds. This fact greatly increases the safety of the driver and all passengers.

Even the smallest details

Focchi RIBs are thought through down to the smallest detail. Your locking options while in the slip, reinforcements of the tubes, bailing system - there is even a solution for easily connecting an external, portable fuel tank if it might be difficult to refuel the optional, built-in gas tank.

In the bow you will find an anchor storage box and there is ample space underneath the seat. Right below the seat is a small space suited for storing a cell phone or similar equipment, and the larger space is suitable for emergency oars etc.

The main models in the Family Series are the 550, 620 and 730, although sizes from as small as 3 meter (as tender boat) up to 8.50 meters can be delivered. Please contact us for more details.

Focchi Family 550

The 550 is an ideally sized boat if you often trailer your boat to different spots for fun on the water. The length of the boat makes it very capable in choppy conditions and the innovative rear bench seating doubles as a lumbar support. It even folds away completely to provide a sun area aft.

Engine choices are from 40hp up to 115hp, with the 90hp being the ideal choice in power to weight ratio.

The standard equipment list is long and comprehensive and there is still plenty of options to customise the boat.

Focchi Family 620

The 620 is still so narrow it can be transported on a trailer without the need to deflate the tubes partially. Meanwhile, the 620 has a lot of presence, especially in the twin seat configuration (pictured) where the console is moved further forward for a second row seating with support for the driver and co-driver.

In the bow you will find ample space for equipment in the large box, which doubles as an extendable sun bathing spot.

Engine choices are from 90hp up to 140hp, with the 115hp being the ideal choice in power to weight ratio.

Focchi Family 730

With the 730, Focchi offers a true power house of a RIB, capable of carrying up to 300hp in a single engine configuration. The Suzuki LeanBurn 300hp engine features an electronic gas/gear control and speeds of 60+ knots.

If you are looking for high-performance RIB with pure racing DNA, the Focchi 730 is for you. The emphasis of the boat is sport and fun, although we can offer configurations suited for government use as well.
